Drawing for comic books

Learn to develop the process of writing and drawing comic book pages and how to plan, create and draw comic book pages effectively. Plan a four page graphic story and complete one finished page on the course. Please note: This is not a computer based course but there will be limited access to computer equipment for tasks such as scanning and printing.

Explore the creative potential of the graphic novel. Learn how to script and storyboard innovative narratives and create exciting characters and compositions.

Develop your drawing and illustration skills and learn how to harness the method of sequential storytelling to create your own exciting comics. A wide spectrum of contemporary examples and materials will be used to encourage you to think creatively and employ an innovative approach. Over the duration of this course you will plan, create, execute and print your own comic.
